First 5 Notes Classroom

Give the whole beginning band one simple way in.

First 5 Notes Classroom costs $99 as a one-time payment for a 12-month term. It covers one band program at one school and may be used by unlimited students enrolled in that program and their co-teachers. It unlocks every full-range module currently available in First 5 Notes. Access does not renew automatically.

Prices exclude applicable sales, use, lease transaction, and similar taxes, which Virtunity will collect when required by law; purchasers must provide accurate billing and software-use information and any applicable exemption documentation before purchase.

First 5 Notes Classroom works in the browser and in the iPhone app. In the iPhone app (version 1.2 and later), a student or co-teacher taps Use a school program code and enters the program code and passphrase to unlock the full-range content covered by an active Classroom purchase.

How would you like to pay?

An invoice request does not activate access. For card checkout, the 12-month term begins when Stripe confirms full payment and Virtunity creates the program. For an invoice or another approved payment method, the term begins when Virtunity independently confirms full payment and activates the program.

We collect adult program-contact details only. No roster, student names, or student email addresses.

How setup works

Purchase once. Share two classroom credentials.

Adult purchase

An authorized adult pays by card or requests a school invoice. We do not ask for a student roster, names, or email addresses.

Private setup

After verified payment, the purchaser receives a single-use link and chooses one shared passphrase.

Browser or iPhone sign-in

Students and co-teachers enter the program code and shared passphrase in the browser or in the iPhone app (version 1.2 and later). In the iPhone app, they tap Use a school program code. This Classroom credential does not create an individual student profile.

Put your beginning band on First 5 Notes

What it is

One program code and one shared passphrase put every beginner in your program on the right five notes, in the browser, on the band-room Chromebooks or at home. Students name the note, find the fingering, play it, and learn a song. No roster, no student names or emails, no student accounts, no advertising.

What it costs

$99, paid once, for a 12-month term. It covers one band program at one school, every student enrolled in that program and their co-teachers, with the full beginning range unlocked on each of the 16 learning paths. The term ends after 12 months and does not renew by itself; write to support@virtunity.io before it ends to continue.

Where it works today

Classroom works in the browser at first5notes.virtunity.io and in the iPhone app: First 5 Notes 1.2 and later has "Use a school program code" on the unlock screen, where a student or co-teacher enters the program code and passphrase. Students with the free iPhone app get the first five notes on any of the 16 learning paths at no cost either way.

The first week, step by step

  1. 1. Buy the license as an adult authorized by your school, or request an invoice. You get a single-use setup link; it expires in 30 days.
  2. 2. Choose the shared passphrase. Share the code and passphrase only with enrolled students and co-teachers in your covered program, using your private class space. Do not post them publicly.
  3. 3. Give each section its instrument link: first5notes.virtunity.io/clarinet, /flute, /trumpet, and the rest of the 16 learning paths. Bells has a high and a low path.
  4. 4. First day: five minutes, Name the note. Second day: Know the fingering. Third day: Play the note with the built-in tuner. The full beginning range opens as they are ready.
  5. 5. Print the student sheet for take-home practice (the same links, the same five notes).

What you will and will not see

  • You see nothing about individual students. There is no dashboard of student results, by design; First 5 Notes keeps no student-level practice analytics and no recordings.
  • Ask whether the same section used it again in the second week, and what got in the way. Tell us at support@virtunity.io.

Questions directors ask

Chromebooks?
Yes, in the browser, with the microphone allowed for Play the note. Headphones help low brass hear true pitch (the headphones setting is in the app).
Do I need to collect anything from students?
No. The code and passphrase are the whole sign-in.
What about the rest of the year?
First 5 Notes covers the first five notes and each instrument's beginning range. It is not a method book, and it does not grade performances.

This is for adults. Students should not enter an email.

Built for a shared music room, not a student database.

No roster upload or individual student account is required for this shared credential. Students do not provide a name or email address. First Five Notes does not display advertising or create advertising profiles from Classroom use. We do not create individual student profiles, track individual students across devices, or create student-level practice analytics for this credential. Practice progress remains on each device. Microphone audio is processed in real time and is not recorded or uploaded. Limited aggregate website and security events may be processed as described in the Privacy Policy, but they are not associated with a named student.

The term expires automatically after 12 months and does not renew automatically. There is currently no self-service renewal or extension; contact support before expiration to arrange continued access. Expiration is enforced at the stated time. A mid-term revocation or full refund may take up to 24 hours to reach a device that is already offline. We may revoke access for a full refund, payment dispute, payment reversal, material credential misuse, security risk, or a violation of these terms. A partial refund does not automatically end access and may be reviewed by Virtunity support.
