First Five Notes is live on the App Store, and the browser offers 16 learning paths across 12 beginning-band instrument families, including separate high- and low-bells paths.
Individual practice
The first five notes are free and require no account. A one-time $4.99 website purchase unlocks one instrument’s full beginning range. A one-time $19.99 website purchase unlocks every current and future instrument full range in the web app. Website purchases are not subscriptions. After a website purchase, we email the parent or guardian a link to set a password, so it can be restored on another browser or in the First 5 Notes iPhone app.

First 5 Notes Classroom costs $99 as a one-time payment for a 12-month term. It covers one band program at one school and may be used by unlimited students enrolled in that program and their co-teachers. It unlocks every full-range module currently available in First 5 Notes. Access does not renew automatically.

Students can use the current iPhone app to follow a plan, work with built-in tools, and preserve a useful practice history.

What parents and directors ask
What happens after the free month?
Billing starts on the plan you chose: $79.99 a year or $9.99 a month. Cancel before the free month ends and you pay nothing.
If the school licenses the program, do families still pay?
No. A classroom license covers every student on it. Families never pay on top of a school license.
Two kids in band - two subscriptions?
Yes. Each student has their own account, practice plan, and history, so each student subscribes on their own.
Can we cancel when band season ends?
Anytime. The monthly plan has no commitment, and you keep access through the period you already paid for.
What does it run on?
Virtunity is an iPhone app. First Five Notes, our beginner app, also runs in the browser on any device, and classroom licenses include that web access.
