Know your child is practicing. See them getting better.
Virtunity gives you real visibility into your child's practice — what they worked on, how long, and whether they're actually improving. No more asking 'did you practice?' and hoping the answer is honest.
The Reality
You bought the instrument. You drive to rehearsals. But how do you know if practice at home is working?
Parents tell us:
- You can't tell if 30 minutes of practice is actually improving their technique
- School report cards show grades, not fundamentals progress or practice consistency
- Investing in an instrument, lessons, and rehearsal time without clear measurable proof of improvement feels like guessing
Parent Visibility
What you'll see
The data that actually matters.
Practice session logs
See when your child practiced, how long they practiced, and what exercises they worked on. Build accountability without nagging.
Progress trends over time
Watch pitch accuracy and rhythm consistency improve over weeks and months. See measurable evidence of growth, not just hopeful comments.
Fundamentals scores
Pitch, rhythm, timing, tone control. These are the athletic elements of music-making. Virtunity scores them objectively so you know where your child's technique stands.
Areas that need work
Know what to listen for during practice. If their rhythm score is lower this week, you know that's where they're focusing energy.
Reports for parent-teacher conferences
Share concrete data with your child's director. Objective proof of improvement, consistency, and readiness for auditions.
Student Experience
What your child gets
Daily practice plans, real tools, and data that shapes improvement.
Daily practice plans
Structured, focused sessions. No guessing what to work on. Plans adapt based on recent scores so every practice session targets what needs improvement.
Practice tools and session logging
Built-in tuner, metronome, drone, and voice notes. Your child logs their reps, rates how it went, and records notes for themselves. Every session becomes data that shapes their next plan.
Session scoring and trends
Clear scores after every session. Trends over weeks and months show measurable improvement. They can feel the growth in the data, not just hope it's happening.

Our Founder
From a parent who gets it
Justin Berchtold
My family scraped together money for my first clarinet. Private lessons were out of the question. I taught myself by searching the internet for fingering charts and listening to recordings—no structured feedback, no idea if I was actually improving.
I eventually earned a spot in the Marine Corps Band and studied at DePaul. But when I started teaching, I saw the same thing in my students' families: they'd invest in an instrument and lessons, drive to rehearsals, and their kids would practice at home—but there was no visibility into whether any of it was actually working.
Virtunity is the tool my parents wish they'd had—the objective proof that practice was paying off.
I built this so every student, regardless of resources, can get honest feedback on their fundamentals. And so every parent—like mine—can see the investment in music education actually working.
