Virtunity 1.1
What's new in Virtunity 1.1
A big update. The plan your teacher assigns, a rebuilt Practice Mode, lesson recording for teachers, and the 12-edition Method Book. Here is everything new since 1.0.
For students
Your teacher's plan
- Open your teacher's invitation link to connect in the app.
- Open the plan your teacher assigns and work through each step with the practice tools beside your music.
- Finish the session to save the work. Your teacher sees the completed work and your week before assigning what comes next.
- Practicing on your own? Choose an exercise from the Method Book.

Practice Mode, rebuilt
- The practice clock waits for Start. Start begins the clock and the metronome together.
- Time: one light for each big beat with its clicks inside, the tempo written with its note, a tempo ruler, Tap tempo, and a time signature sheet for simple, compound and uneven meters. Triplet and sixteenth clicks have their own drawn buttons.
- Pitch: a large note name, a cents readout and an in-tune bar. The drone sits in the same window. The tuner starts on the instrument in your profile.
- Three good reps in a row move the tempo up a step. A Keep button lets you stay at the old tempo.
- Notes: your teacher's directions, what "done" looks like, and your last note on the same exercise, all in one place. Type a note or speak one.
- View music inside practice. Turn your phone sideways for a wider page with the tools along the bottom.
- Final take: one tap starts the recording. The block summary then shows your time, tempo, reps, take, notes and ratings.
- Practice Recovery keeps an interrupted session so you can pick it back up.
For students
More to practice with
- Method Book: 12 editions, one for each instrument in the app.
- Music Library: imported music and music from your assignments in one place. Turn your phone sideways to read the score.
- Review: listen back to a saved take and plan your next attempt. A saved take stays private until you choose to share it with a connected teacher.
- Scale Checker confirms scale notes on your iPhone. Notes only. Not tone, rhythm or a complete performance.
- The Lab: short rhythm and skill modules for focused work alongside your plan.
For teachers
Lessons into plans
- Teacher accounts are free.
- Invite students with a link and connect them to your private roster.
- See weekly practice summaries of time, repetitions, streaks and completed work, without ranking students.
- Record a lesson, review the drafted practice plan, and publish it to your student.
The first time you open 1.1 as a teacher, you read and accept a short teacher agreement about recording permission and lesson plans. It appears once.
