What the organization posted
Recorded audition submitted online through OpusEvent, and submissions may only be made by OMEA member teachers. Woodwind and brass applicants for All-State Wind Ensemble record Tracks 1-3 from the OMEA-supplied 'Set C' packet for their instrument, which contains the printed audition material OMEA distributes (licensed from WMEA and prepared by Don Neptun). Percussionists record three tracks: mallets, snare drum (three exercises recorded as a single track), and timpani. Track 4 is optional and is a named excerpt required only to be considered for a doubling chair, for example Grainger's Molly on the Shore for piccolo and Eb soprano clarinet, Beethoven's Trio for Two Oboes and English Horn (La ci darem la mano variations) for English horn, Weissenborn Bassoon Studies Op. 8 Book II No. 15 for contra bassoon, Holst Second Suite in F mvt. IV with Molly on the Shore for alto/contra-alto/contra-bass clarinet, and Arban Etude No. 28 from the Complete Method for Tuba. The same Wind Ensemble packet is used for the wind and percussion sections of the All-State Orchestra. The All-State Symphonic Band requires a separate audition using its own packet and is limited to OSAA 1A-4A schools; students at 5A and 6A schools may only audition with the Wind Ensemble materials, and Wind Ensemble auditionees may be placed into Symphonic Band. There is no sight-reading component.

The Wind Ensemble packet is 34 pages and is mostly printed music, so the specific content of Tracks 1-3 appears as notation rather than as named published etudes. The jazz packet has its own requirements, which are not covered on this page.
