- Senior high All-Region auditions run January 8-16, 2027 depending on region (Region II January 8, Regions III/IV/VI/VIII/IX January 9, Region I January 11, Regions V/VII January 16). All-State wind/string/percussion auditions are February 6, 2027 at Henderson State University (weather date February 13, 2027). All-State jazz auditions are February 5, 2027 at Arkadelphia. The Arkansas Music Conference / All-State Clinic is February 17-20, 2027 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

What the organization posted
The 2026-2027 school year uses Set I of a three-year rotation (Set II is 2027-28, Set III is 2028-29). Scales: major and harmonic minor scales for all instruments plus a chromatic scale, all played from memory at quarter note = 72 or faster, tongued, ascending and descending, in a fixed 2/4 pattern of one eighth note followed by six sixteenth notes. The chromatic scale is played in 16 counts of eighth-note triplets followed by one quarter note, tongued, two octaves, from a starting pitch specified for each instrument. Scales are listed in written pitch, not concert pitch, and the number of octaves is specified per instrument. Etudes are named method-book excerpts with page and exercise numbers and a minimum tempo for each, differing by instrument: for example bassoon uses Weissenborn Practical Method for Bassoon (Carl Fischer), clarinet uses The Complete Clarinet (C. Rose Revisited, Complete Works Music Publishers, revised 2020) together with the H. Klose Method for Clarinet (revised Bellison, Carl Fischer, Klose-Prescott page numbers), low clarinet uses Advanced Studies (Weissenborn) arr. Rhoads (SMC), and saxophone uses Selected Studies for Saxophone by H. Voxman (Rubank). Region and state auditions are held in person at the host sites named on the ASBOA calendar.
