The most recently posted cycle held live auditions on Saturday February 7 and Saturday February 14, 2026, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Appleton North HS, UW-Eau Claire (Haas Fine Arts Center), Middleton HS, Waukesha South HS, Rufus King HS in Milwaukee, Central HS in La Crosse, and UW-Stevens Point (Noel Fine Arts Center).

What the current page describes
Requirements are published per instrument, grouped as Traditional Ensembles (Band, Orchestra and Choir) with separate woodwind, brass and percussion pages, plus a separate Jazz Ensemble requirement set. The requirements page states plainly that the 2027 requirement documents were not yet live and will post September 1, 2026.
Notes
The page states audition requirements for the 2027 HS State Honors Music Project post September 1, 2026, and the auditions page says 2027 audition information posts the same day. A separate Middle Level State Honors project runs its own auditions and its own requirement pages. A State Honors Orchestra is also offered; whether wind players audition into it through this same posting is not stated. WSMA's auditions page lists physical sites and times only for the prior cycle (February 7 and 14, 2026) and does not state the 2027 audition format.
