- High school auditions December 4, 2026 at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston and December 5, 2026 at the Canady Creative Arts Center in Morgantown. Application postmark deadline October 10, 2026; late postmark deadline October 17, 2026, after which no applications are accepted. No onsite registration. Concert March 6, 2027 at the Charleston Civic Center.

What the current page describes
The 2026-27 high school page publishes the process only: a mailed application with a per-student, per-instrument fee (higher after October 10, 2026), two live audition days, no onsite registration, and performance music sent to directors after selection. The site's separate audition-music page is still headed 'High School All-State Band Audition Requirements 2024-2025'. That older set required all scales from memory and sight-reading in every audition, with two named etudes per instrument (for example Rose 32 Etudes Nos. 5 and 20 for Bb clarinet; Karg-Elert Op. 107/2 and Andersen Op. 21 No. 10 for flute; Ferling 48 Famous Studies Nos. 7 and 18 for saxophone), plus major scales through four sharps and four flats and a chromatic scale. Do not assume that list is current for 2026-27.
Notes
The 2026-27 page gives dates, deadlines and fees but no audition music. The /audition-music page still carries the 2024-2025 heading and is no longer linked from the 2026-27 high school page, so it should be treated as stale until confirmed. The site states no date for posting 2026-27 audition requirements - re-check before the October 10, 2026 application deadline. A separate middle school All-State Band posting exists on the same site. The event is run by the West Virginia Bandmasters Association (audition checks are made to it) under the WVMEA honor-concerts umbrella; site is wvallstateband.com.
